Synthetic Sciences raises $1.4M and joins YC W26

We're excited to share that Synthetic Sciences has raised a $1.4M pre-seed and joined Y Combinator's W26 batch.

We're lucky to be backed by Cory Levy/Z Fellows, Pioneer Fund, Amplo VC, Pareto, Charlie Songhurst, Walter Kortschak/Firestreak Ventures, the a16z scout fund, Noar Ventures, and others.

Synthetic Sciences is a research lab working on autonomous scientific discovery. The long-term idea is simple: scientific research should not be bottlenecked by human bandwidth alone. We want to build systems that can reason through open problems, propose experiments, learn from failures, and help push the frontier forward.

For now, we're staying small and focused. We're hiring a few exceptional researchers and polymaths, running a lot of experiments, and turning our roughest bets into real systems.

It's early, but this is the work we want to spend the next decade on.

If that sounds exciting, we'd love to hear from you.

More soon.
